New Year, New Ideas!

We are looking forward to the start of a new year and developing our plans for 2025 and beyond. We have lots of ideas and projects we are working on that we look forward to showing to you when we are able to.

We would also like to thank two of our directors who have recently stood down and welcome two have joined us.

Chris O’Toole has supported our work for a number of years both as a director and in her role at Bensham Grove Community Centre. She recently stepped down as a director but will continue to support us to work in the counity

Sophie Hope has also been a supporter of our work before becoming a director, helping us think about the role of art in communities and engagement. Whilst she has stepped back as a director she will continue as an advisor, supporting us in our future direction.

We welcome Christine Frazer and Suzy O’Hara as Directors of Dingy Butterflies. Christine is a Community Bridge Builder and Gateshead resident who works with communities and residents in Gateshead, in particular the areas of Bensham, Saltwell, Teams and Dunston. She will be a great asset in helping us engage with communities in Gateshead. Suzy is a lecture at the University of Sunderland, whose research explores the role of art in addressing environmental issues and impact on society. An area we are interested in for our future work. She also presented at our Bees of Bensham conference in April 2024.
